  • The waiting time for applications to be processed and subsidies to be paid under the Mój Prąd (My Electricity) programme can range from 60 to even 240 working days, and some people have been waiting for two years.
  • As many as 42% of applications are subject to at least one correction, which further delays the entire process – there have been cases with more than 10 corrections.
  • MPs raise the alarm that systemic delays discourage investments in renewable energy sources and are contrary to the declared climate policy of the state.

Over 104,000 people have applied for funding from the My Electricity program this year (as of July 15). The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management website states that the expected application review time is approximately 140 business days from the date of proper submission.

"This deadline is indicative and applies only to applications that have been submitted correctly and do not require supplementation," the Fund states.

However, the spokeswoman for the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, Magdalena Sokołowska, clarifies that "the average actual waiting time for the application to be considered and the subsidy to be paid under the Mój Prąd (My Electricity) programme for individual editions ranges from 60 to 240 working days."

Some beneficiaries of Moje Prąd have been waiting two years for the subsidy to be returned.

MPs Jerzy Polaczek, Piotr Król, Grzegorz Gaża, Andrzej Gawron, Marek Wesoły, and Robert Warwas pointed out that in practice, many people wait over a year for a decision and a transfer, and in some cases even two years. Considering that we currently have version 6.0, the average may actually be 240 days.

These are not exceptions—it's a systemic problem. Program beneficiaries must finance investments out of pocket or on credit, relying on government support, which arrives with significant delays, if at all. Such delays undermine the state's credibility and discourage investment in renewable energy, which is in direct contradiction with the EU's declared climate goals and policies.

- we read in the interpellation they submitted.

In response to our questions, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) indicated that it is "taking a number of actions aimed at completing the evaluation process for funding applications submitted under the sixth call as quickly as possible. These actions are being carried out both within internal organizational resources and with the support of external entities, which allows for increased efficiency and timeliness of the process." Members of Parliament disagree.

Subsidy programs only make sense if they operate efficiently. In its current form, "Moj Prąd" (My Electricity) increasingly resembles a worthless advertising campaign —and is becoming objective fodder for critics of the energy transition.

- said the parliamentarians.

42% of applications are subject to correction at least once

The Fund explains that in response to the observed delays resulting from numerous corrections submitted by applicants, a limit has been introduced on the number of possible corrections to four per application.

Statistics show that as many as 42% of applications are subject to at least one review, and 5% are subject to a second review. There have been cases where the number of review requests exceeded 10. This restriction is intended to streamline the assessment process and expedite disbursements.

- informs the spokeswoman.

Payments are made only to the beneficiary's account

As of 15 July 2025, 25,752 applications for funding were approved for a total amount of PLN 316,097,444 - including 23,080 grants paid out for a total amount of PLN 285,557,862.

In the previous edition of the program, all submitted applications for funding were accepted for assessment, and the assessment process ended in October 2024. However, as the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management explains, as of July 16, 2025, the number of applications submitted for supplementation was 891. The deadline for submitting corrections depends on the applicants' ability to respond timely and immediately to requests for supplementation of documentation.

In the current edition, payments are made only to the beneficiary's account, not to the intermediary - as was the case previously.
